I’m currently reading The Foxhole Court, the first book of the All for the Game trilogy, by Nora Sakavic. There is no justification for American Royals to be a book, let alone a 464 page book, let alone a 464 page book with a 384 page sequel. Both American Royals and Majesty were physically painful to read. Majesty, the sequel to American Royals, by Katharine McGee.

The most recent book you just couldn’t finish? I don’t prefer one or the other, but I do prefer physical copies to electronic copies.Ħ. I prefer books that finish with enough closure that I don’t need to read the sequel, but with enough of a cliffhanger that I want to read the sequel. For example, the Shadow and Bone trilogy, Six of Crows duology, and King of Scars duology by Leigh Bardugo or The Raven Cycle and The Dreamer trilogy by Maggie Stiefvater (though technically The Raven Cycle is four books, not two to three books). I prefer to read duologies and trilogies (since I can only commit to two to three books at a time), but I’ll read multiple duologies/trilogies set in the same world. How many books are too many books in a series?
